“Koggenzieher” with slapstick, poetry slam and political cabaret

And the winner is: Jean-Philippe Kindler! The cabaret artist from Bochum wins the golden “Koggenzieher” 2020, announced jury speaker Christoph Gottschalch on Sunday evening. Silver goes to Johannes Floehr, bronze to Valter Rado & Tim Schaller. And the audience award? Will also be presented to the duo Rado & Schaller to great cheers from the guests on stage 602 in Rostock’s city harbour.

There was also much applause for the pantomime ski performance by Valter Rado, actor, author and director from Venice, and Tim Schaller, clown and actor from Hanover. The duo, winners of the preliminary round (against Florian Hacke and Victoria Helene Bergemann) on Friday, presented – mostly without words – a completely new image of the Advent season: uninhibited, drunken winter sports enthusiasts, dogs singing Christmas carols, snow-covered nativity scenes – anyone who has seen the imaginative, surreal best of their programme “Christmas Fever 2.0” will be able to deal with the stress of the festive season with ease in future. After all, it will be that time again in ten months’ time.
